
Jazmine Jazmine, who is Philadelphia native was raised and born in the city. Her mother Pam is a former backup singer for Philadelphia International Records. Her father offered an opportunity to be the curator of the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She along with her family relocated to the historical landmark. In 2005 she was a graduate of the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts as majoring in vocal music. Sullivan sang as a contralto singer for the choir for children and later in the years later, she sang as an adult in the choir. Sullivan experienced only a small amount of secular music. The singer recalls she was 11 when someone requested her to sing in a solo at church. She wasn't quite ready to go. "Then when McDonald's offered a competition to children in cities of the world, I got a chance to perform 'Accept What God Wills' on Showtime at the Apollo and the audience was very enthusiastic". At the age 13 she sang with Stevie Wonder for his grandson's birthday celebration. Sullivan was signed initially to Jive Records at the age fifteen. The label initially signed Sullivan to Jive Records in the year 15. The singer-songwriter produced an entire album but this album was never released. Sullivan was eventually dropped from the label. Her work had been in good relations along with Missy Elliott. Elliott produced numerous tracks for her, including "Backstabbers" the track that was produced by Timbaland.
